Air Products Signs Virtual Power Purchase Agreement with GIG’s Scieki Wind Farm

Air Products (NYSE: APD), a world-leading industrial gases company, has signed a long-term, virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) in Poland with Scieki onshore wind farm, owned by Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG). 

The agreement supports Air Products’ "Third by '30' goal" to reduce its CO₂ emissions intensity (kg CO₂/MM BTU) one-third, by 2030, from a 2015 baseline.

By increasing the volume of renewable electricity sourced by corporates, the VPPA is also working in support of Poland’s renewable energy goals. The country is transforming its energy mix through its target to deliver 23% of generation from renewable energy by 2030. Wind projects, such as Scieki, are essential to achieving this target.

GIG has now supported 18 corporates to secure PPAs for over 3 GW of renewable energy capacity. The PPA team are currently active in Europe, America, Asia and Australia – and have put in place agreements in eight markets.
