GIG portfolio company, Blueleaf Energy, forms joint venture with Univergy to develop solar projects in Japan

GIG portfolio company, Blue Leaf Energy Asia Pte Ltd (“Blueleaf Energy”), has announced a joint venture with Univergy to co-develop an initial 200 MW portfolio of large-scale solar energy projects in Japan. 

Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, the new joint venture – Hinode Energy KK – marks Blueleaf Energy’s expansion into Japan, one of the largest solar markets in the world. The joint venture brings together the partners’ local insight and development experience with engineering, operations and financial excellence to help achieve Japan’s green transition goals.

Blueleaf Energy’s mission is to provide safe, high quality, ethical solar energy projects to deliver a greener energy mix and lower power bills. It specialises in the development, finance, construction and operation of solar PV projects for both C&I rooftop and utility scale systems, across the Asia Pacific region.
