Green Talks: Supporting the transition to net zero through agrivoltaics

02 December 2021

GIG Green Talks is a series of short, expert-led conversations that examines the roles of corporates, consumers, utilities and investors in the green transition. The series is designed to explore the technologies, policies, actions and work required over the course of the next decade to accelerate our green transition.

In this episode, serialised into five videos, Ed Northam, GIG's Head of Europe, sits down to talk about agrivoltaics – the process of sharing the same piece of land for agriculture and solar energy production – with Professor David Viner, who leads GIG's Green Impact Advisory team, and Federica Gallina, Development Director at Cero Generation, GIG's standalone specialist solar energy company in Europe. Hear their conversation as they discuss how agrivoltaics works,  the challenges and opportunities that it presents, and how agrivoltaics is helping the transition to net zero.
