Green Talks: Finance at a tipping point: Accelerating the transition

12 July 2021

The Paris Agreement called out the critical role of finance in the delivery of global climate targets, and while steps have been taken, we know more must be done.

Christiana Figueres, Founding Partner of Global Optimism and Former Executive Secretary of the UNCCC and Mark Dooley, Global Head of GIG discuss how the private sector has answered the climate call, current commitments and what we need to see more of from financial institutions in the run up to COP26.

This video was played at the second episode of the Green Horizon Perspectives series which took place during London Climate Action Week 2021 and focused on the pivotal role of finance in unlocking the transition to net-zero by mobilizing private capital into the real economy.

Green Talks is a series of short, expert-led conversations that examines the roles of corporates, consumers, utilities and investors in the green transition. The series is designed to explore the technologies, policies, actions and work required over the course of the next decade to accelerate our green transition.
